Fashions of the ’Forties and ’Fifties: From Wartime to the “New Look”

Through period photos and a display of vintage styles and accessories, fashion historian Bonnie Hansen will explore women’s clothing in the World War II years, including the effects of fabric rationing and the expanded presence of women in the work place.  The story continues into the 1950s, with radical new styling resulting from postwar prosperity.
